Hi,

I'd suggest to add two more hints in this tutorial:

1) Ensure that :photo is added to attr_accessible in the model. Elseway it won't show up as a field in your forms.
2) It might be necessary to provide Paperclip.options[:command_path] in config/environments/development.rb (and/or production.rb) as documented here: https://github.com/thoughtbot/...

Hi, I just tested it and it works without trouble for me. Most
probably you have run the same command twice. Please try deleting the

Yes, I think you can do something like:

belongs_to :previous_task, :class_name => Task
has_many :dependent_tasks, :foreign_key => 'previous_task_id'

Hi Marc: Hobo does not create directories in app/views/model_name by default. You need to create it manually only if you are going to modify the default views.

About looking at the directories in each step: Yes, it's possible. Just click on the "view on github" links. Then you can browse the files in that step of the tutorial.

Seems like there is a bug in the manual. The after_user_new is not an callback that you can define as mentioned in the manual. You have to create create it as a method "def after_user_new...."

Hello.

@Bryan: Excellent intro to Hobo.

I have been trying to modify tasks, so one task could depend on another task being solved first. Could a task have_many of its own kind of objects - or would you have to have two different kinds of tasks for that setup?

Example: the task of: "brushing your teeth" depends/awaits for the task: "open mouth" to be completed.

I would appreciate some hints towards a solution to this.

It's possible to give the listing of the files and directories after each step of the tutorial ? Because when I create a Hobo app, I don't find directories in Hobo_App/app/views for the model create with "hobo g resource my_model my_field:....."

undefined method `signed_up' for guest:Guest

and added this to guest.rb

It's the default theme in 2.0.0, so yes, it does work. You might want to try generating a new app and comparing it to your current app to see what you're missing.

I tried the two-minute tutorial by doing the following:

- Turnkey Ruby install on virtual box
- apt-get update and apt-get upgrade to bring vm to current
- gem install rails (installed version 3.2.12 for me)
- followed the instructions as indicated.
- everything worked as indicated.

Quite an accomplishment .. I tried about 1 year ago and it was not painless .. dependencies and related issues.

This is perfect and I see that AJAX is being incorporated into the tutorials.

Many thanks for your continued efforts on this development methodology.
